Default All-in?

How much do you go All-in during a tournament?

At the beginning of tournaments (freerolls too, unless I've signed up for too many at once......) I rarely go all-in.

Once in awhile I am dealt one of the top hands and I may decide to go for the gamble, but that even depends on my position and how many (if any) people have already gone all-in. Chances of winning go down the more people there are in the pot and I think I'm just more of a card player than a gambler. Although I have had those occasions when I was dealt suited connectors that I fell in Love with .

When I start a tournament the first thing I tell myself is to be patient. To study the table for awhile and wait for the first flurry of All-ins to be over. By then I have a little more information at my disposal before I start risking all of my chips.

I guess I just like seeing my chip stack build by reading the table, playing well and by tossing in a gamble here and there throughout the tournament when the timing is right ...
