I've lost faith in people

So last nite I discover theres a poker free roll tournament 3x a week in my town. Actually its in several towns around the US...I suggest checking About Us | The Poker Pub, Inc. to see if they have one around you.

Anyways I show up and the winner gets points or 20 dollars cash. Considering its free I guess I cannot complain too much, but these were by far the worst players I have ever seen. They gave off a million tells and they would go all-in because they struck bottom pair, or call huge raises PF with their 9-5o. Needless to say I lost because I flopped top pair and got called by some guy who had nothing til he caught running clubs for a flush.

I play on FTP all the time and I thought these people sucked. I was well mistaken. Oh well they run these tournaments 4x a week and I wouldnt mind a free 20 dollars. Check if you got one near you. Needless to say when wanting to play real players I will stick to the Harrah's Casino.

I have heard about these games, but I would stick with the on-line games until the Law is changed. I have also read newspaper articles and seen news stories on National News programs of friendly, neighborhood poker games held at VFWs or Elks and such being raided by local police! Few weeks ago our local Elks Club held a Holdem Tourney...$20 DONATION. Boldly advertised that there would be no prize MONEY awarded - winnings would all be prizes donated by local business.

oh i totally didnt catch the end of that...
well playing with inexperienced players sucks, i would rather play a table full of people who knew how to play than a table full of people who were just throwing their money around...
your gonna get that no matter what freeroll you get into though unfortunately
