I think im done with horse racing. dont get me wrong, i love the pony's my mom went into labor at the track when she was carrying me. I live by Del Mar race track and think its one of the most beautiful tracks around, and i so enjoy going there. But with all the money that is involed in horse racing there is just way too much vulnerablity for the horses. I know alot of horses are well taken care of but alot of others arent and those are the ones im concerned about.
so im done supporting horseracing (at least till they start up again next year and i wind up going anyway!)

I rarely get out to the track since I'm watching horse racing from my tv. The last track I went to was Suffolk Downs since its the only thoroughbred track in the northeast

Default What Track Do You Go Attend

Lone Star Park in Grand Prairie TX is only one close enough for me to attend. Although, I love to watch the horses race I'm not much of a handicapper. I once traded a $2 exacta ticket in because I changed my mind it would have hit paying nearly $500. The last day of the season is my favorite day. Some real long shots seem to hit on that day. I narrowly missed a $52,000 trifecta 2years ago when I didn't have enough money to box my last choice.

Pokerhanas, Just joined the Forum and was browsing around and saw your post. I own a race horse and just wanted to let you know that it's been one of the better experiences of my life. Worked as a mutuel clerk part time for many years and my wife still works. Having had a chance to interact with people from all areas, it still amazes me on the common thread that "most" of the people really care for the horses. I've seen it first hand. Yes, you hear the horror stories but that's in the minority. Hope you change your mind.
