Default 2008 Kentucky Derby

Since the Kentucky Derby is this Saturday, today the post position draw occured. I would put my money on Colonel John (4-1 M/L) (post 10). As for former favorite Pyro, I would throw out the Bluegrass Stakes since he appeared to not like the Keeneland polytrack.

Your thoughts?

Default Big Brown

I have to go with Big Brown. He won easily in the Fla. Derby with the 15 post. He is the only horse who has won from that far outside going that distance in quite some time. Either he is a world beater or the other horses in that field were not that good. We'll see Saturday how good he is.

I hate horseracing for ever now. i had been on the fence for a while about it but im done now. i will never go to the track again.

I watched that race and you could see that horse was in trouble just before the finish line, i know that jockey knew it and kept running her anyway.
what crap!

It was unfortunate that this happened on horse racing's most celebrated day for all to see.

yes it was a very sad day. I was so happy when Big Brown won and then won the Preakness! I think we may have a triple crown winner this year.

I agree. I think Big Brown is the real deal and will win the triple crown.

Default Ky Derby

Being a race horse owner, I have talked to many horsemen about Eight Belles. All agreed that the horse was not in trouble during the race. It was a freak injury after the race. It was a tradegy for sure but not caused by anything the owners, trainer or jockey did. Hopefully Big Brown will get the credit he is due if he wins the Triple Crown. Then hopefully he will run against Curlin in the Breeder's Cup Classic. That would be great for horse racing.

trclopay, please enter your horse at Churchill on the day that Curlin runs. That will give me a good excuse to see Curlin run.
