Default Online Poker Etiquette

I've noticed that online poker etiquette is worse than live games. People at the tables always say what they have when people are in the hand, always telling someone else to call someone's allin just cause they have pot odds, and when people get put out, they just go off sometimes. I would like to know if this happens to anyone else and if so i wonder what could be done about this.

Happens all the time for me, but what's more disturbing is the things people say when they loose a hand or get out of a torunament. Some people will cuss out people every hand they lose and say in some way that they played the hand perfect and ur a donkey for doing what u did. They think that just because their in their own house and behind a screen, no poker etiquette applies. Because I know for sure that most of the people that say the crap out there they would not even think about saying that to some one's face in a live game.

The one that bothers me the most is the people that will bluff into a dry sidepot with an all in at the table in a tourney. Nothing pisses me off more than to find out that they had no pair and no draw and the all in ends up winning the hand where I would have busted them if I had stayed in to the end. Usually I will call these donkeys if I have the chips to do so, but if it gets too expensive I will fold to their stupidity.

I'm reminded of the Delete Online Bullying commercials when I read this thread. Many of times people will say things online that they would NEVER say in a live game. We all know that these people do that because they are hiding behind a computer. However, I'm not proud to say it, but if I'm not getting any action at a table I will---whats the right phrase, ah yes--"Talk some shit" to invoke action. I will always acknowledge a good hand and never complain on a beat though because the cards are out of my control.

Unfortunately for them, I know how to tilt people.

Using "smack talk" to tilt people can be useful strategy...but beware what you say and who you say it too. I get "smack talked" often by people frustrated with my tight aggressive play....and I usually use it against them. I love it when a rookie or donk gets mad at my style or it's success. I will use someone's verbal aggression towards me as a tool to frustrate them and put them on tilt. It's usually quite easy....be as pleasant as possible...and use just the right amount of sarcasm lol.....and they will either stop or lose focus. It only takes one mistake to lose.....so why not provoke it if possible. As for sore losers....just shrug it off.

online you dont have to deal with the person face to face. if it was a home game someone might get their ass handed to them for giving away info before the hand is done, telling someone else what to do, or smack talk. it is alot easier to talk smack or give info if you are in a different time zone when if it was face to face things could happen.

Default Just turn your Chat off

If the players are bothering you, you haver the option of muting them or not viewing chat at all. Just turn it off and play your game!
I find some of it pretty amusing at times but mostly annoying as well.
