Agreed. As long as you know the all-in is not winning either way, get some value. And, checking quads isn't so bad anyway, let the others catch up.....

After flopping quads, it's a pretty safe bet that you got the nuts.

The only reason to check a hand down is to give two hands a chance at putting out the all-in. Since you had that in the bag, you should have tried to get as many of the other player's chips as you could. Perhaps you could even put two players out with an unbeatable hand.

There is a difference in bluffing at a dry side pot or a small side pot with an allin versus having the nuts.... I have checked it down when I hit the flop and ended up loosing on the river to another player, even though the all in went out... and was beat on the flop.. I lost a lot of chips that way.. You have to look at the board and do what is best for you. I never bluff at a pot with an allin.

I have seen too many times where people bluff into a dry or very small side pot by going all in or betting really big and end up losing the main pot to the all in player with A or K high. Not smart tourney poker if you ask me. When your goal is to survive you have to play smart even if it means losing some chips by checking it down.

i hate when people call other people with "all in" hands, just because theyre hoping to catch something and win, but in the end they double or even triple up the all in person
