That happened last night on a hand. A sit out was all in and I would have had 2 pair after the river, but had nothing on the flop. I got bet out on the flop and the sit out won. Obviously, not a big deal since the sitout was gone the next time the blinds came around, but still. It could have cost someone that was actually playing a spot or two in the standings. Check it down people.

Actually... been looking into that. Got two sources for software to run our own poker room. Had we done this 2 years ago and got into the game early, it would be a beautiful thing. However, what we are looking at now is $170,000 up front to use a pre built application that comes with a gaming license (same program that runs titan), or I can have my own developed for $250,000 using a software development company that we use for a lot of custom applications. (I would then have to obtain a gaming license as well.) Option 3 is to "lease" poker tables, at the low low cost of $6000/month. Either way, it will take a lot of loot to get started, and it's a huge gamble with the number of poker rooms there are now to compete with.

this is obviously a no-brainer to anyone that has played poker before , but the problem is that there are too many rookies out ther in online poker.

Default fish in the water

what everyone has to remember is that in this day and age of TV advertising of all the poker rooms...is that where the fish are going to be? we all started as fish at some point...none of us started playin at the level we do now...very few of us knew of "checking it down" it happens to everyone who plays with any number of fish...

play tight and trap...that's the only advice we can give each other, because we cant take the time to train all the new fish...if we did that, we'd have no time to play our game and win...

so what im sayin guys is this...nothin we can do, but play...

dru himes

I would have to agree there when in that situation check it down unless the pot is a lot bigger than what the guy moving all in has if the pot is a lot more than what the all inner contributed I could see betting it but if the all inner is just called all around you should only bet if you have a good hand one you believe will win and are looking to make some more chips off of the hand
