Default All-in?

How much do you go All-in during a tournament?

At the beginning of tournaments (freerolls too, unless I've signed up for too many at once......) I rarely go all-in.

Once in awhile I am dealt one of the top hands and I may decide to go for the gamble, but that even depends on my position and how many (if any) people have already gone all-in. Chances of winning go down the more people there are in the pot and I think I'm just more of a card player than a gambler. Although I have had those occasions when I was dealt suited connectors that I fell in Love with .

When I start a tournament the first thing I tell myself is to be patient. To study the table for awhile and wait for the first flurry of All-ins to be over. By then I have a little more information at my disposal before I start risking all of my chips.

I guess I just like seeing my chip stack build by reading the table, playing well and by tossing in a gamble here and there throughout the tournament when the timing is right ...

Well in freerolls, true freerolls where there are no stipulations to enter, then I will go all in as many times as my chips will allow me. Now in real money tournaments it all depends on stage of the tournament, my position, what the other players have been doing and a number of other things. An easy answer I guess is, I go all in a little as possible.

GL at the tables,

Momma... I hate to go all in but sometimes, I just can't help myself. Especially, if hand after hand, I get cheated. A big suck out or I was a huge favorite... You know! I go on tilt... so yes, sometimes.

Default All in

I hate to play the first 5 hands in ANY freeroll. The gamblers who are looking at a K/J os and think they have a sweetheart hand are usually gone after a few rounds.
I can recall one freeroll where I got pocket aces the first hand. I was like, "shit" I have to call these 6 monkeys who went all in before me. Natuarally I lost!

If you are playing solid poker you shouldn't ever put your tournament at risk without the nuts. Even if you think you have your opponent drawing dead, you just never know. Right str8?!! LOL

I go all in as little as possible, unless I have everyone else in the hand covered. Iff all my money is never in the pot, I cannot be eliminated. Sometimes though, you just have to push and hope your hand holds up.

Ok, I would like to add another part to this question. Let's say you finally got your chance and made it to the WSOP, doesnt' matter if you bought in or sat'ed in. It's the very first hand in the tournament and you are on the button. Someone in EP raises all in and there are three callers before the action gets to you. You now look down and see AA, do you call?

While my instinct would be to call (and smile broadly while doing it!), I don't think I would... and for just the reason in your signature - It's easier to recover from a bad laydown then a bad call.

That is my thought too. AA against four random hands around 56% to win. i don't see any reason to be just a little better then 50/50 to win and the fact that it is so early and you will have a number of chances to out play others over the next few days.

Thanks,

I go all in when i feel like it.

sometimes i go all in just for fun but of course thats only when i playing in a freeroll or a rebuy.
if a freeroll and if theres lots of people and i just dont really have the 5 hours to waste on a game then i will go all in a few times and hope to make some sitout chips then leave or i go bust.

if its a rebuy then depending on the stakes dictates my all ins.
if low stakes .10- 1.00 i go allin alot and rebuy because too many others do this and the chipstacks get very big very fast so have to have to keep up.

i dont usually go allin with higher limit rebuys, it just gets too expensive.

oh yea i also go allin alot in the instant graiification games (the ones where half your buyin is a bounty the other half goes in the pot so theres a bounty on everyone.) ive made lots of money on these
