Did I Do Something Wrong?

Well, in a quick synopsis, I was playing in a freeroll at Full Tilt today. I had about 20,000 chips with only about 365 people left, so I decided that I just wanted to place top 27 so I can win money, and just sort of cruise for the time being. What I did was just play good hands (e.g. QJ, KK, AK, etc...) so I could stroll my way to the final table. I pulled a hand that gave me a straight on the turn, so I re-raised someone's 2100 chip raise to 6,000. The other player goes all in and I call. At this point in the turn he has 2 pairs, where on the river he draws a full house and I lose a wad of chips. A few minutes down the line I have AK suited, I go all in, and the highest hand out of 4 players was pocket Queens. I don't hit my Ace or King and land in 37th place out of 2700. I guess what I'm trying to say is did I play my cards wrong? Was I foolish to think I could stroll my way in to the final table with 20,000 chips (at the time I was 8th out of 365)?

Any suggestions would really help. It's killing me that I can't win one of those damn $100 dollar freeroll's at FT

ITs hard to win one off those freerolls i dont have an account at full tilt but do at other sites.I would say you did the right thing i would off played the same way.I might not off went all in with ak with 4 other player in on the hand but it is a hard hand to lay down before the flop.better lluck next time

you did almost everything right.You should know it's computer run games so if you really want to win one you need to relax and let the good hands go.Or when your well ahead start messing with the people at your table so they think twice before calling you.Gl on all future games I hope this will help.,

ps.I've only got money once on a freweroll at FT.the 11:10pm est top 100 get 1 tourney dollar.I'm never home at that time anymore so I don't play it,but it was easy. it's a start
