1st - interesting thing i didn,t know is Sexton and the commentators are not live. The vegas gaming commission will not allow them to know the players cards. (for fear of cheating which makes sense.) So they add all there smart comments after the game is over. It,s all edited. 2nd - Don,t play like you see on TV. A pro warned you only see the final table and maybe the 7 hr game is edited into 1 hr !! You only see the exciting hands. Hands where a 5-7 bets and makes a boat. !! An ACE-Q is a good hand at a 6 player table. But not at a 10 player MTT free-roll !! |

The real problem with tv is its the first exp[osure so many players have to the game and when they bad beat someone with a 10 2 and then they try to impart the wisdom of Doyles 2 victories with that very hand... True but he was heads up and different flop different time...from UTG all in is not the time to test that theory. Tv needs to educate and put a few disclaimers.

TV is so huge for poker in making the community grow, and just generally educating kids and people on how to play which encourages more home games, and maybe older people to try it out in the casino. One thing I would like to note is that if it the viewers at home could not see the hold cards of the pros, poker tv would not be exciting at all. I believe it kind of be like watching paint dry. |
